The
Patient Information Library The
availability and dissemination of appropriate information is essential
when dealing with any illness. It is now understood that patients
and relatives need to be able to access information for themselves,
as well as being given verbal information by their health professionals.
It is for this reason that a library facility will be included in
the Sir William Rous Unit. It will provide access not only to books
and videotapes but also to the information published on the World
Wide Web. It will also be staffed by people who will be able to advise
on how best to use the different sources.
